New Fall Group Class Schedule Coming SOON!! Check back often!
| Lake Norman Dog Training group training classes are designed for people just like you! We are raising the bar for the family dog!. You probably don’t really want a show dog—but a "show off" dog would be great! We offer free-play sessions in our Puppy Manners class, and Star-Barks which helps the dogs "get their ya-ya's out" and after free-play we get to work! These are great opportunities for you to put your dog in "real-world" situations while remaining in a controlled environment, allowing you to train your dog and establish the relationship and leadership you'll need with your dog when you go out in public... Did someone mention Starbucks!?! With your well-behaved dog, you can order a latté, sit relaxed at the café table without having your dog embarrass you! |

Manners and Friends
This is a 5 week course designed to add socialization skills to basic commands as sit, down, come, stay. Requirements: Puppies, must be on leash at all times! They should be accustomed to the leash before coming to the first class. If you need assistance with leashing your pup, please give us a call! Classes are 60 minutes in length. If you have enrolled in the Puppy class, and would like to print out what you will need to bring to class, click here. By now, your pup has learned some behaviors you might not see as desirable. This group class will address adolescent behaviors as well as working on socialization and focus. The last class will be an outing to a local coffee house - the latte's are on US!!! Requirements: No prerequisite..open to all dogs over 5 months of age. Classes are 60 minutes long. This is a fun group that is a MUST for owners that like to travel and spend time with their dogs. Commands taught in this class are: Heel, positive recall, long down stays, public courtesy, and we will have a class "out on the town" to practice our behaviors, as well as a class at the local coffee house! We will start teaching the phase 2 and 3 of training: corrections and proofing. This is a FUN class! Come and join us! Requirements: Previous training or trainer approval. Dogs should be able to respond appropriately to sit, down and walk on a leash. Classes are 60 minutes long. Intermediate Group:Intermediate teaches more advanced skills such as heel, positive recall, front and finish. Silent hand signals are taught in this class as well! This is an active class with lots of practice time!! Requirements: Your dog should have completed the Beginner Group or a minimum of 6 private lessons or completion of another training program. Your dog should have mastered sit, down, and stay (without distractions) to enroll in this class. Classes are 90 minutes in length.
Canine Good Citizen Prep and Mock Test ( CGC): Are you ready to take your dog to the next step? The AKC Canine Good Citizen Award can be just the thing! Even though the award is given through the AKC, all dogs are able to take the test and receive the award! It takes some work, but the rewards are endless. If you are interested in therapy work with your dog is the a great step to certification through therapy groups. Interested in Agility? Most qualified agility instructors prefer a dog that has received their CGC award. Have a "hit list" dog - ones that seemingly get branded as a "bad dog" ( pit bulls, rotties, dobies?) Give your dog the BEST chance to speak for his breed by earning the CGC award. We will also administer a MOCK exam to get you ready for the real thing!! The mock exam is free with the CGC Prep course. Requirements: Your dog should know the basics of sit, down, stay, be non- aggressive to people and other dogs. Classes are 90 minutes in length.
